Johnson Cheek

Johnson Cheek is the 2026 recipient of the Scotland Memorial Foundation Allied Health/Nursing Scholarship. Johnson plans to attend East Carolina University, where he will pursue a degree in Exercise Physiology (Pre-Med) with aspirations of building a career in healthcare.

Johnson is an active member of the Anchor Club and is passionate about giving back to his community. He played a key role in the “Pennies for Pink” breast cancer fundraiser, helping collect donations that provided a $100 stipend to individuals currently undergoing breast cancer treatment.

His involvement reflects his compassion and commitment to supporting those facing challenging health journeys.

Guided by perseverance and determination, Johnson draws inspiration from the words of his mother: “You CAN do hard things.” This mindset has helped him stay focused on his goals and overcome obstacles along the way.

Teachers describe Johnson as a young person with integrity and strong moral character, qualities that shine through both in and out of the classroom. His dedication to service, combined with his aspirations in the medical field, makes him a deserving recipient of this scholarship.
