Saleiya Lowery
Saleiya Lowery, a proud Robeson County native, is a dedicated and driven student pursuing a Master of Occupational Therapy at the University of North Carolina at Pembroke.
As a recipient of the 2026 Scotland Memorial Foundation Nursing/Allied Healthcare Higher Education Scholarship, Saleiya continues to demonstrate a strong commitment to academic achievement and service within her community.
Holding both an associate and bachelor’s degree, Saleiya has built a solid academic foundation that supports her passion for helping others. She carries a powerful mindset, sharing, “I recognize that, as a young Native adult in an underserved community, I am capable of achieving whatever goal I set for myself.”
Throughout her involvement with the North Carolina Native American Youth Organization (NCNAYO), Saleiya has exemplified leadership, dedication, and a deep commitment to uplifting her community. Her efforts have not only strengthened her leadership skills but have also reinforced her passion for serving others through healthcare.
Saleiya’s academic and community achievements have been recognized through multiple honors, including the North Carolina Lumbee Tribal Veterans Association Scholarship and the Native Forward Scholars Fund. These accolades reflect her determination, resilience, and unwavering pursuit of excellence.
With a clear vision for her future in occupational therapy, Saleiya is committed to making a meaningful impact by helping individuals regain independence and improve their quality of life.
