The 2025 Ritz proved to be an extraordinary evening of generosity and celebration, raising over $180,000, nearly $10,000 more than last year’s event. This milestone underscores the communities’ unwavering commitment to ensuring patients receive the care they need, regardless of financial barriers. One of the most impactful moments of the night was the Fund the Need paddle raise, which supports medications for patients who cannot afford them. In just 20 minutes, attendees contributed almost $70,000, demonstrating the power of collective compassion. Additional fundraising highlights included: • Ritz Raffle — Congratulations to Anne Hoover of Marlboro County, this year’s winner. • Silent and Live Auctions — Featuring unique items such as a handmade table by Dr. Purcell, which sold for $1,600 and was generously donated back for next year’s auction. • Wine Pull — A guest favorite that added excitement and fun to the evening. The event embraced a vibrant Havana Nights theme, complete with authentic cuisine and lively entertainment. Guests danced the night away to a new DJ and enjoyed music from Oscar’s Latin Band, which set the perfect tone for the celebration. A memorable twist occurred when the event’s ice sculpture made an unexpected stop at the Ritz-Carlton in Charlotte before arriving fashionably late. One attendee remarked, “I attend events like this often, and I’ve never seen one done so well and flawlessly.” “Every year, I’m amazed by the incredible generosity of this community,” said Misty McMillan, executive director of the Foundation. “These contributions aren’t just numbers—they represent hope, access, and dignity for patients who might otherwise go without care. We have an outstanding healthcare system, and I’m honored that our team can play a role in making sure no one is left behind.” The funds raised will help bridge critical gaps for patients who often fall through cracks of insurance or government programs. “We want to make sure everyone gets the care they need, despite where they live or their ability to pay,” McMillan added.
